A fairly mild word used to describe someone regarded as daft, not all there: 'Did you give him the len of a tenner? You're cakey, so ye are!' Like doughheid this seems to have something to do with baking. Perhaps the idea is that a foolish person's head is like risen dough: full of nothing but air.

Yet another term for a fool or idiot: 'It wis a hunner-watt bulb Ah telt ye tae get, ya doughheid!' This is sometimes shortened to dough: 'There it's lyin right beside ye, ya dough.'
