Glasgow Patter: daily life...
dale
At a swimming pool, the dale is the high diving board or platform: "Gaun! Ye're feart tae dive the dale!"
This probably comes from the local pronunciation of deal, the wood often used to make such boards, in the same way that beat is often pronounced bate.
globe
Used locally to mean a light bulb. "That's no another globe went, is it?"
jaup
A small amount of spilt liquid, a splash: "They've left wee jaups of emulsion on the windy pane."

Words in the Patter are not all related to aspects of life specific to Glasgow or particularly relevant to local habits - there is no shortage of local terms for everyday things or activities that are universal.
