Glasgow Patter: ordinary things...
stank
A street drain, or the metal grille that covers it: "Ah drapt a pound coin an it rolled doon that stank." The phrase doon the stank is used in the same way as the English down the drain: "It's just money doon the stank tryin tae keep that place gaun."
Stankie is a children's game of marbles that makes use of the grille of a round stank as a playing surface, handy because the marbles sit neatly in the holes: "We canny get playin stankie cause the gutter's choked."

Words in The Patter are not all related to aspects of life specific to Glasgow or particularly relevant to local habits - there is no shortage of local terms for everyday things or activities that are universal.
