Glasgow Patter: daily life...
cloy up
This means to shut up, to stop speaking: "Gauny cloy up, you?" It is a variation of clay up, meaning to seal a hole or gap with clay.
dot
To dot is to go somewhere; usually in a brisk manner: "Ah think Ah'll maybe dot round to Suzy's for a paper." "We've been dottin about Shawlands all day." The term is sometimes used to mean pouring something out: "Pass us that milk till Ah dot some in ma coffee."

Words in The Patter are not all related to aspects of life specific to Glasgow or particularly relevant to local habits - there is no shortage of local terms for everyday things or activities that are universal.
