Glasgow Patter: daily life...
plank
To plank something is to hide it somewhere: "The doughheid planked his winnin lottery ticket somewhere an now he canny find it." Such a hiding-place, or the stuff hidden in it, is called a plank: "Yer Granny's got ginger snaps in a wee plank just for youse."
To plank something down is to set it down heavily: "He planked his big bahookie doon on the settee an said that wis him for the night."

Words in The Patter are not all related to aspects of life specific to Glasgow or particularly relevant to local habits - there is no shortage of local terms for everyday things or activities that are universal.
